Category B Office Refurbishment

This installation was a large-scale electrical installation that consisted of installing new client distribution boards to supply the power requirements for the office space. The office was fitted with a new under floor bus bar system supplying the desk power via floor boxes. This type of power distribution allows the user to reconfigure the desk positions and add additional workstations with minimal disruption.

On this project the existing lighting and ceiling grid was removed from the core exposing the concrete structure and building services. This was sprayed black, and LED suspended light fittings were installed to give an industrial edge to the office space. Various types of lighting were installed throughout the office, with the canteen area being the high light. This was a complex installation requiring the lighting to be pre-installed before the acoustic grid system, requiring the planning to be precise for each light to fall centre of each square within the grid.

These types of projects require a large amount of teamwork, which involves co-ordinating with the electronic lighting control company to produce a stunning lighting design or the onsite carpenter for a power socket in the joinery seating.
