About Me

Stone Electrical Services

My Apprenticeship:

My working career started with a family friend, who offered me an electrical apprenticeship within his business, that he ran with his partner. As most trade apprenticeships it was day release once a week for 3 years gaining city and guilds and NVQ qualifications.

The company worked on all types of electrical installations but also covered large CCTV installations. The CCTV installations where for companies such as British Telcom, British Rail and therefore would mean travelling around the country and on a few occasions working abroad. In this line of work, I gained a lot of experience in containment systems, which in the modern day is a dying craft. The installations would need to be of the highest standard due to being for security systems and the level of client. I gained a lot of different skills from cable pulling in duct work to, large CCTV systems in shopping centres.

Early Electrician Life:

Coming to the end of my apprenticeship I decided to move on and wanted to work be more local and joined an electrical firm that specialised in shop fitting and high-profile domestic work in London. The work was consisted of fast-moving projects with deadlines, which gave me grate experience in thinking quick and making sure the plan is right before you start as not a lot of room for errors.

Moving on from here I decide to go self employed and went in another direction, installing security systems. This consisted of various types of systems and installations (door access, alarm systems and CCTV). This gave me a great insight into these types of systems and to this day still use the knowledge learnt when faced with these types of systems in my line of work now. Once again though the work consisted of installations around the country and wanted to be closer to home and decided to move on

Electrician Career Starts Here:

An opportunity came to work for a local commercial fit out company that had an associated electrical contracting firm. Sadly, after a couple of years the company went into liquidation, but I had built a good relationship with the electrical director who started his own electrical contracting firm and asked me to work for him. I worked as an onsite electrician and through the years progressed to being a site manger then came to run multiple jobs from site. This then progressed to leaving the installation side of electrical work and being full time office based and project managing. The projects where high-level commercial office refurbishments across London for an array of well-known household brands. These project where mainly the head quarters of these brands and the installations was of the highest standards as these places of business where for the meets and greets of their client’s and they wanted to impress.

Stone Electrical Services LTD:

I soon came to realize that officed based work wasn’t for me and enjoyed more the practical side of electrical work and the job satisfaction installation work gave you. I went back into the installation side of the business for a year doing commercial fit out once again but an opportunity to work local for myself presented itself and decided to make the switch and here we are. Through the years working in different sectors have picked up valuable skills in all aspects of electrical work from fire and security to three phase and electronic lighting control systems.

In a whole we can offer wide range Electrical servicers in all sectors Domestic, Commercial and  Industrial, including majority of home improvements .

"Stone Electrical Services far exceeded my expectations.  Delevered on time and within budget.  Can't thank them enough"
